AboutHello! My name is Nicole, and I’m a science illustrator based in Brooklyn by way of San Francisco. I am most fascinated by animals and their interactions, imagining how they experience the world, and examining the ways in which humans relate to nature. In the past I have conducted biodiversity surveys as a wildlife technician in Montana, prepped skin and skeleton specimens for the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology in Berkeley, and worked as a research assistant to study the social behavior of wild titi monkeys in Bolivia. I approach my illustration subjects with the same research-oriented vigor to create scientifically accurate visuals that engage the broader public. The best illustrated animal books of my youth could take me to the farthest reaches of the world, while fueling my curiosity for the environment closest around me. I hope my drawings can do the same. Information less pertinent: I enjoy Vietnamese iced coffee, fine stinky cheeses, spontaneous exploration, and watching Youtube cover videos with my dachshund. Currently available for freelance in illustration and graphic design. For comments and inquiries please reach me at: nmw[at]nicolemwong.com I would love to hear from you!
